Zimbabwe's prices barely move, so read what they say

On most boards the useful question is where to find a better number. In Zimbabwe the numbers barely differ, which makes what they say about the football the more interesting thing on the page.
Take the best price available on each result across this market and the weekend still costs 5.32%. Take a typical one and it costs 6.01%. That distance is small enough that a Zimbabwean bettor is choosing a match, not a price.
So this piece reads the other way round from the rest of the series. Less about where to bet, more about what the odds are telling you.
When every price is close to every other, the odds stop being a shopping problem and start being information.
What the weekend's prices say
The best available number on each result, the house holding it, and the market's own read on the match once margin is removed. The percentages are where the reading is.

- Fulham v Chelsea, Mon 24 Aug3.56 Africabet / 3.88 Africabet / 1.98 Premier Bet · 27 / 25 / 48%
The market is most certain about Hull City against Manchester United, with the visitors a 70% chance, and about Manchester City at home. Ipswich against Sunderland is the closest to an even match on the card, and Fulham against Chelsea produces the tightest board of the weekend.
Two visitors are favoured on this card, at Newcastle and at Fulham. Both are priced closely enough that the draw deserves consideration rather than dismissal.
What each market costs
Margin is the share the odds carry above a fair book. Zimbabwe's three markets differ from one another far more than the houses differ from each other.
- Match result6.01% at a typical book, 5.32% at the best available price
- Over and under 2.5 goals7.38% at a typical book, 7.38% at the best available price
- Both teams to score7.82% at a typical book, 7.13% at the best available price
Match result is the cheapest thing to bet here and both teams to score the dearest, which is the ordinary shape. What is not ordinary is how little comparison changes any of it.
That has a clear practical consequence. Effort spent hunting a better number is better spent deciding whether the bet is worth making at the number in front of you.
How the market prices
Averaged across the same matches: overall, match result, over and under 2.5 goals, both teams to score.
- Africabet7.00% overall · 6.01% · 7.38% · 7.62%
- Premier Bet7.02% overall · 6.02% · 8.03%
These rows are close to identical, and that is the finding. Houses arriving independently at almost the same margin is either a coincidence or a settled local standard, and one weekend cannot tell you which.
What it does tell you is that a Zimbabwean bettor gains very little from spreading accounts around, and loses very little by not doing so.
How little the prices differ
The widest gaps of the weekend, which in this market are narrow, followed by the price bands.
- Hull City v Manchester United, home win7.60 at one book against 8.20 at another, 8% better
- Fulham v Chelsea, the draw3.70 at one book against 3.88 at another, 5% better
- Hull City v Manchester United, the draw4.70 at one book against 4.90 at another, 4% better
- Fulham v Chelsea, away win1.92 at one book against 1.98 at another, 3% better
- Newcastle v Liverpool, home win3.50 at one book against 3.60 at another, 3% better
- Favourites, under 2.000.57% below the best price on average
- Middling prices, 2.00 to 4.000.67% below
- Long shots, over 4.001.42% below
The largest disagreement on the whole board is Hull City at home, quoted at 7.60 against 8.20. On USD 10 that is USD 6 of difference, and it is the biggest gap available anywhere on this weekend's card.
The bands below barely slope, which is the clearest sign of a market where prices are not being set in competition with each other. Whatever you back, you are treated much the same.
What the odds are worth reading for
Use the percentages, not the shop window. With prices this uniform, the value in this board is what it says about each match. A 70% favourite and a 5% outsider are real assessments, and they are the same ones the global market is making.
The cost is fixed, so the selection has to carry the bet. Where a wider spread of prices would let a bettor recover a point or two by comparing, here the margin is what it is. That raises the bar on every selection.
Watch for movement, not for gaps. The interesting question in this market is not who is cheapest today but whether anything starts moving over the coming rounds. This series will keep measuring it.
This is the first instalment. The same numbers follow each round.

Method
Odds from the Zimbabwean bookmakers listed above on the Premier League fixtures of 21 to 24 August 2026, as at 18 August. Margin is the sum of the implied probabilities of every outcome in a market, less 100%. The best available price takes the highest number quoted on each outcome anywhere in the Zimbabwean market. Percentages beside a fixture are the market's own view of it once margin is stripped out. Odds move; the numbers here describe a snapshot, not a guarantee. 18+. Bet responsibly.
