Kenya's bookmakers cannot agree on the draw

Every gap worth noticing on Kenya's opening-weekend board sits in the same place. Not on the favourites, not on the outsiders, but on the draw.
Bookmakers usually differ most on the outcomes nobody wants, which means the long shots. Kenya's market differs most on the result that sits in the middle of every match, and the gaps are large enough to matter on an ordinary stake.
A draw is the hardest result to price because it depends on the shape of a game rather than the strength of a team. When houses disagree about the shape, the disagreement lands here.
The result in the middle of the coupon is the one Kenya's market is least sure about.

- Fulham v Chelsea, Mon 24 Aug3.72 1xBet / 3.96 1xBet / 2.15 MozzartBet · 27 / 26 / 47%
Fulham against Chelsea is the striking one. Read the best available price on all three results and they add up to less than a whole book, which happens when houses are pulling in genuinely different directions. It is a measure of disagreement rather than an opportunity, because these are snapshot prices and the keenest of them move first.
Beyond that the round is priced conventionally. Arsenal are an 81% chance at home, Liverpool and Chelsea are both favoured away, and Ipswich against Sunderland is the closest thing to an even match.
The cost of each market
Margin is what the odds carry above a fair book. The three markets are priced very differently from one another here.
- Match result4.07% at a typical book, 1.04% at the best available price
- Over and under 2.5 goals5.51% at a typical book, 2.32% at the best available price
- Both teams to score6.36% at a typical book, 4.45% at the best available price
The match-result figure is the headline: comparing prices cuts the cost of a result bet to roughly a quarter of what a typical house charges. No other market in Kenya rewards the same effort nearly as well.
Both teams to score is where the money stays. It is the dearest market on the board before comparison and still the dearest after it, which makes it the leg to think hardest about before adding it to an accumulator.
Where each house sits
Averaged across the matches each priced: overall, match result, over and under 2.5 goals, both teams to score.
- Bangbet3.99% overall · 2.02% · 4.99% · 4.96%
- 1xBet4.10% overall · 1.59% · 3.16% · 7.53%
- SportyBet4.31% overall · 2.01% · 6.03% · 4.88%
- Betika4.55% overall · 3.93% · 4.84% · 4.88%
- Dafabet4.76% overall · 3.93% · 5.54% · 4.82%
- 22Bet6.31% overall · 5.35% · 6.06% · 7.53%
- SportPesa6.37% overall · 5.99% · 6.01% · 7.09%
- Bantubet6.44% overall · 6.44%
- MozzartBet7.13% overall · 5.26% · 8.13% · 8.00%
1xBet posts the keenest match-result number in the market and one of the dearest on both teams to score. Bangbet and SportyBet are within touching distance on the result and roughly a third cheaper on goals, which makes them the better default for anyone whose slip is not purely match-result bets.
The gap from the top of this table to the bottom is close to double, so the choice of house is worth roughly as much as the choice of market.
The draws, and everything else
The widest gaps of the weekend, in order. The pattern is the point.
- Newcastle v Liverpool, the draw3.50 at one book against 4.16 at another, 19% better
- Fulham v Chelsea, the draw3.50 at one book against 3.96 at another, 13% better
- Hull City v Manchester United, the draw4.60 at one book against 5.20 at another, 13% better
- Manchester City v Bournemouth, away win5.58 at one book against 6.30 at another, 13% better
- Fulham v Chelsea, home win3.30 at one book against 3.72 at another, 13% better
- Favourites, under 2.001.49% below the best price on average
- Middling prices, 2.00 to 4.003.02% below
- Long shots, over 4.004.84% below
The draw in Newcastle against Liverpool is available at 3.50 in one place and 4.16 in another. On KSh 1,000 that is KSh 660 of difference on a result that either happens or does not.
The bands below still show the usual bias, and it is real. But in Kenya the sharper lesson is about the middle of the coupon rather than the long end of it.
How much of the best board is reachable
The practical question is how few accounts it takes before comparing stops adding anything.
- 1xBet46% of the best prices, 98.9% of the value
- Adding Bangbet74% of the best prices, 99.8% of the value
- Adding MozzartBet84% of the best prices, 99.1% of the value
- Adding SportyBet91% of the best prices, 99.1% of the value
The first choice already captures almost all of the available value, and the second effectively closes it. What the count of best prices hides is that the remaining gaps are tiny in money terms.
What to carry into the next round
Check the draw twice. If the disagreement on draws persists, it is the most reliable place in this market to find a better number than the one in front of you, and it applies to matches most bettors have an opinion on anyway.
Do not judge a house by its match-result price alone. The keenest result price in Kenya comes with one of the dearest goals prices attached. The right choice depends entirely on what your slip actually contains.
Watch whether the goals markets tighten. Both teams to score is the dearest thing on the Kenyan board. If competition arrives there over the coming rounds it would be the single biggest improvement available to bettors here.
This is the first instalment. The same numbers follow each round.

Method
Odds from the Kenyan bookmakers listed above on the Premier League fixtures of 21 to 24 August 2026, as at 18 August. Margin is the sum of the implied probabilities of every outcome in a market, less 100%. The best available price takes the highest number quoted on each outcome anywhere in the Kenyan market. Percentages beside a fixture are the market's own view of it once margin is stripped out. Odds move; the numbers here describe a snapshot, not a guarantee. 18+. Bet responsibly.
